The answer is with some really skilful music planning. Frank Sinatra goes at the beginning because gramps wants to get the dancing in earlier before he becomes to tired. Then maybe some music for people in their 20s and 30s.

After that some Sugababes for the tweenies goes in at 22:30 to show that’s everyone’s invited. By 23:00 it’s time for some floor fillers to get everyone on the dance floor. If there’s a late night then maybe a change of gear with people who want to dance up until 02:00.
